Rolling into Travel Mode

How many awkward selfless {no, autocorrect, it’s SELFIE} can I litter this post with? I’m rolling out tomorrow for two trips back to back with the baby and cannot wait to have the chance to take more awkward selfies.

1) Another whirlwind week.

Lots of play time with the kids and sewing time by myself during the sweet lull of nap time.

Almost sweet. One day looked like this.

Nurse baby down while older two have unusually happy moments of playing together.

Rejoin older two to discover all sheets removed from beds, trucks lined up for truck rally of the sort only toddlers could dream up, and children not ready for bed. I give them a quick warning and run go look for the UPS man.

Separate older two, sending SuperBoy up to his napping room (the guest room recently vacated by a dear friend from the Netherlands), and plopping SweetPea on the toilet. She can’t go. Three//four//five songs later and she is in nap mode.

Read to SuperBoy this great new book “Built to Last” that I picked up in the bargain room of Red Balloon up the street. Love it. As we round the corner of our last page, she is screaming I MADE A POOPIE AND POTTY. Pause with him.

Go back to her, wipe, re-do everything, put an unhappy girl back to bed.

Go back to him, finish our page.

Go back to her while she screams I AM HUNGRY and trot downstairs, kicking the hallway humidifier in the hopes it will start and cover our noises so the baby doesn’t wake up. It doesn’t. One bowl of plain whole milk yogurt decorated by an abundance of bananas later and we are back up for her nap.

I look outside for the UPS truck. Still hasn’t brought my fabric I need. Cue: baby crying. Yes, nurse & rock again.

2) Giveaway

3) New radio show coming soon!

My girls Bonnie, Heather, and Rebecca are starting a radio show. Cannot wait. Stay tuned (so punny, so punny) on their Facebook page for updates as to when it will hit the airways.

4) Traveling to a blogger conference and speaking on networking and social media. EEEEK have to finish my talk. HAVE TO START MY TALK.

I have written it and rewritten it in my head. I have even practiced a joke or three. But it hasn’t actually been typed out yet because I’m sewing like made trying to get these lady leggings out the door before I go away and also trying to . . . well I ironed one shirt this week.

My big sister is amazing conference presenter so she talked me through some tips on the phone. Let’s hope I can implement as well as she does.

5) Read this. Solid advice. Don’t Kill Your Kids.

6) WeekEats not happening again because I’m outta here, suckers!!!

The big kids will dine finely as my mom will run the food show. I’m sure AA will slip a few hotdogs in there. Just because. Dads and hotdogs. Srsly.

You all had great suggestions when I was starving earlier this week, remember??

7) Visiting my brother all next week with the baby! His baby and mine! And his toddler!

So it will be quiet around here as next week I’m going to be with my brother & sister-in-law and their two boys. I’ll have a few posts scheduled ahead of time but otherwise, go see who linked up with Kelly and read better stuff.

The one post you’re not going to want to miss is about children learning to read . . . from an expert on the topic. Stay. Tuned.

I will be praying for all of you at the conference! Wish I lived closer so I could be there! Our regional conference is coming up in May, and I am looking forward to it very much.
I wish I was trim enough for your lady leggings, but these thighs of mine… ahem… let’s not discuss them… 😉
Have a wonderful weekend and visit with your brother!
