Baby Girl Has Arrived!
We share a birthday! And she was the best birthday present ever. I’m writing up her birth story and will post it Monday for the Birth & Parenting Series. She came at 9:17pm and was 7 pounds, 6 ounces, 20 inches long. We birthed in the water at St. Joes with our wonderful midwife, fabulous doula, and caring nursing staff. AA was a stellar labor coach and it was amazing to finally meet our little girl, SweetPea.
She’s living and sleeping with us in our room, but her nursery is ready for her! We put the finishing touches on the nursery this past weekend. The toy chest & dresser were acquired back in the 70’s for my eldest sister, the rocker from that era as well, the crib a hand-me-down from my sweet aunt, the mobile was mine from back in the day, most of the little girl clothing from my sister!, and the quilt one I made for her in the past few months. Whew! Fun!
I remember that pink chair! big brother looks so adorable waiting for his sister in that chair!
Remember how stella used to attack it? Now our other cat has so the backside is pretty ugly ๐
Oooh water birth!?!? I can’t wait to hear more. So much love to you and brand spanking new baby. Yeeaaahhh!
We send you guys our love too!
Congrats! She’s precious!
Thank you! They are such little miracles, these babies!
Many blessings. The family just gets more beautiful.
Thank you so much!

[…] SweetPea stalled out, but after a bump of pit, she too was only 5 1/2 hours start to finish in the water, 15 minutes of extremely painful pushing, and not a stitch in sight needed for me. She was smaller, at 7 pounds, 6 ounces, and the water helped tremendously. I was up & at ‘em a few days later, feeling tired but really quite fine. […]
